The one who is humble always gets a good response from everyone. Your friend who may think you bad may become your good friend later because of your humbleness. Of course, we still have a friend who dislikes us but someday he will understand us and become our good colleague. However, I always understand them.
I searched 'humble man' by Google; I found one story that was interesting. It says about one Daimyou (a high rank of governors who governed a province in ancient Japanese) who was humble. One day he got fish as a gift from a man and he ordered his secretary to daft a letter to thank that man. The secretary had drafted the brusque letter on behalf of the great saying thanks to the low rank man and submitted to the Diamyou for his consideration. When reading, he ordered him to rewrite the polite letter to the man again.
From this story, humbleness is very important for everyone, not only for a boss. Sure, a boss must keep this story in mind for his consideration of practice because when someone becomes the boss he gets much respect. He may feel that he is the great. But actually people may respect him because of being afraid of his position; it is not a real respect from the mind. So practicing a humble mind, you will sit in the minds of all people.
